New Delhi: Central government employees have started getting 28% Dearness Allowance (DA) from July 1, however, the DA of June 2021 is still awaited. The government may soon release the dearness allowance for the month of June and if this happens then the total DA will increase from 28% to 31%, which means the salary of the central government employees will increase again.

3% dearness allowance for June is yet to increase

The dearness allowance for June 2021 has not yet been decided, although the AICPI data from January 2021 to May 2021 shows that there will be a further increase of 3 per cent in DA. Significantly, DA was increased by 4% in January 2020, 3% in June 2020, and subsequently increased by 4% again in January 2021. In this way the total DA reached 28% but now with an increase of 3% in June, the DA will reach 31 percent.

According to the news of DNA, according to the 7th Pay Commission matrix, the level-1 salary range of central employees ranges from Rs 18,000 to Rs 56,900. That is, the minimum basic pay is Rs 18,000. If we do our calculations on the basis of minimum wages, then we will see the same increase in September.

As per calculation of 28% Dearness Allowance, the total annual dearness allowance on the basic pay of Rs 18,000 would be Rs 60,480. But talking about the difference, the salary will increase by Rs 23,760 annually.

  2. New Dearness Allowance (28%) Rs.5040/month
  3. Old Dearness Allowance (17%) Rs.3060/month
  4. Calculate the difference: 5040-3060 = Rs.1980/month
  5. Increase in annual salary 1980X12 = Rs 23760

Calculation of 31% Dearness Allowance

Now if the dearness allowance is increased by 3 per cent in June, then the total DA will be 31 per cent. Now the total annual dearness allowance on the basic pay of Rs 18,000 will be Rs 66,960. But talking about the difference, the annual increase in salary will be Rs 30,240. We are giving you information about how it will be, which is as follows.

  1. The basic salary of the employee is Rs. 18,000
  2. New Dearness Allowance (31%) Rs.5580/month
  3. Old Dearness Allowance (17%) Rs.3060/month
  4. Calculate the difference: 5580-3060 = Rs.2520/month
  5. Increase in annual salary 2520X12 = Rs 30,240

Let us tell you that in January 2020, the central government had increased the dearness allowance by 4 percent and after that in June 2020, the dearness allowance was increased by three percent.
