Man ran away from an ambulance stretcher, video goes viral

A video showing a man running away from an ambulance has captured the attention of social media users around the world and sparked a debate about healthcare-related costs in the US. The video of the incident was posted on TikTok by Meredith Scheringer with the caption ‘Bucks in 6 baby’. The clip has garnered over 8 million views so far.

In this shot video, a man is seen in khaki shorts and a white T-shirt. The ambulance stretcher is being placed at the back of the trolley by an EMT. But suddenly the man gets up from the stretcher, jumps out of the ambulance and starts running on the road. He runs for a while towards the bar but collides with a waiter causing his tray to fall. After that he too falls. Then he gets up and runs away from there.

It is believed that the man was highly intoxicated, but did not wish to seek medical attention. Netizens watched the video and many expressed their admiration for the man, linking it to the hefty cost of health insurance. It is not clear why the man fled the ambulance. But netizens are convinced that this was to avoid paying any medical fees.

According to reports, traveling in an ambulance can cost up to $450. If someone is airlifted, the cost can go up to $21,000. One user wrote that he didn’t want the $900 ambulance bill. Another person said that when Americans find out they haven’t got any health insurance.
