The second leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 will be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 19 to October 15. The first phase of the league took place in India, which had to be postponed after the Corona case surfaced. Now the remaining 36 matches of the tournament in UAE will be played within 27 days. Ahead of the second phase, the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team led by Virat Kohli has made major changes. The decision has been taken due to non-availability of several players who were part of the RCB squad. Also the head coach of the franchise has also changed.

Entry of three players in RCB

RCB have included Sri Lanka’s star all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga in the squad in place of spinner Adam Zampa. In white-ball cricket, Hasranga has been impressive in the last one year. The 24-year-old cricketer had recently performed well against India, after which he was expected to get an IPL deal. He was adjudged man of the series in the T20I series against India. Harsanga was not sold in the IPL 2021 auction. He has scored 192 runs in 21 T20 Internationals and picked up 33 wickets.

Apart from Hasaranga, RCB have also picked up Sri Lanka’s Dushmantha Chamira. Sri Lankan fast bowler Chamira, who has been in form since the tour of England, also made a mark against India. Chameera did not find any buyer in the IPL 2021 auction. He has previously been a part of Rajasthan Royals. He is now ready for his second IPL. He has taken 30 wickets in 28 T20 Internationals. Tim David has come to Bangalore as the third player. David looked in fine form during the recently concluded Royal London One-Day Cup. He scored 340 runs in 8 innings for Surrey in the List A tournament.

These players were out of RCB

Adam Zampa was one of the players who withdrew from the tournament before the first leg of IPL 2021 was suspended. He had said that he would not be available in the second phase. He has been included in Australia’s T20 World Cup squad. According to the report, apart from Zampa, four other players will also not be available in the second phase, whose names are Finn Allen, Kane Richardson and Scott Kuggelein. Let us tell you that the coach of RCB has also changed. RCB’s Director of Cricket Operations Mike Hesson will now serve as the head coach of the franchise. He will replace Simon Katich, who resigned for personal reasons.
