New DelhiReliance Jio has once again defeated Airtel and Vi (Vodafone-Idea) by a huge margin in terms of average 4G download speed. According to the recently released data by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), the average download speed of Reliance Jio was measured at 21.9 Mbps in June. Last month i.e. in May, Jio’s average 4G download speed was 20.7 Mbps. Reliance’s average download speed has been increasing continuously for the past several months.

Reliance Jio continues to occupy the number one position in 4G download speed. Data for June shows that Reliance Jio’s 4G download speed is many times higher than its competitors. Airtel’s average 4G download speed stood at 5.0 Mbps in June as against 4.7 Mbps in May. Although Airtel registered a marginal increase, it was more than four times less than the download speed of Reliance Jio. Bharti Airtel’s 4G download speed has fallen by about 30 percent as compared to February 2021 and has slipped to number three.

Vodafone and Idea Cellular had merged their businesses and now they are working as Vodafone-Idea, but till April 2021, TRAI used to show the figures of both separately. From the month of May, TRAI has started publishing the data of both the companies in the name of Vi India.

Data from Vi India shows that the company recorded an average download speed of 6.3 Mbps in the month of May, up from 6.5 Mbps in June. Vi India has pushed Bharti Airtel to the second position, but the company does not stand anywhere in front of Reliance Jio. Reliance Jio’s download speed is more than 3 times that of Vi India.

Vi India topped the average 4G upload speed chart in June with 6.2 Mbps. Reliance Jio won the second number with its upload speed of 4.8 Mbps. Airtel also ranked third in terms of average 4G upload speed. The company’s average upload speed for the month of May was measured at 3.9 Mbps. The average speed is calculated by TRAI on the basis of real time data collected with the help of MySpeed ​​application.
