Jaipur: Over 20 people, including seven children, died in separate incidents of lightning in Rajasthan’s Jaipur, Jhalawar and Dholpur districts on Sunday. In a major tragedy in the capital Jaipur, 16 people were killed and eight others were injured when lightning struck near the Amer Fort. All the leaders including the Chief Minister of the state have expressed grief over this incident. A video of lightning is also going viral on social media, which is being told of Amer.

Congress leader and former Rajasthan MLA Dheeraj Gurjar has also shared a video of lightning on his Twitter handle, although Times Now does not confirm the veracity of the video whether it is from Amer or elsewhere. He wrote, ‘The information about the loss of life due to lightning in Amer is very sad and heart breaking. May God give peace to the departed souls and strength to the families to bear this loss, praying for the speedy recovery of the injured. Deepest condolences to the affected families.

According to the news, the people who died due to lightning near Amer Fort had gone there to roam. Most of the dead were youths who had gone to enjoy the weather on a hill near the fort. Some people were taking selfies on the watch tower when the lightning struck, while many were present on the hill. Everyone fell from the watch tower as soon as the lightning struck.
