Filmmaker Ayesha Sultana, who is facing sedition charges for her remarks against Lakshadweep Governor Prafulla Khoda Patel, will appear before the police on Sunday. The Kerala High Court on Thursday allowed Sultana’s plea for anticipatory bail in the case but asked her to appear before the police on June 20.

Reserving its final order, a single bench of Justice Ashok Menon granted him anticipatory bail for a week. A case was registered against the filmmaker on June 10 after Kavaratti police registered a case under various sections of the IPC on the complaint of Lakshadweep BJP president C Abdul Khadar Haji.

Sultana was served a notice under Section 41A of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) and the police asked her to appear at the Lakshadweep Police Headquarters in Kavaratti in connection with the case.

What is the whole matter?
Filmmaker Ayesha Sultana made a statement during a TV channel debate. Ayesha had said that there was not a single case of corona in Lakshadweep so far, but now 100 cases are being reported every day. I can say that the central government has appointed administrator Praful Patel as a bioweapon. He is implementing undemocratic, anti-people policies here, due to which the cases of corona are increasing continuously.

After this statement, BJP strongly criticized Ayesha and filed a sedition case against her. His choice of words was questioned and his intention was said to create hatred and hatred in the minds of the people.
