A big announcement is expected from the central government on Saturday 26 June. The Central Government can give relief to lakhs of pensioners who are eagerly waiting for the restoration of their Dearness Allowance (DA). The National Council of JCM, which represents Central Government employees, will meet today with the Union Ministry of Finance and Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) to discuss the DA hike of employees. This decision is likely to benefit 52 lakh central government employees, 60 lakh pensioners who are awaiting pay hike. Decision on DA arrears will be taken under the recommendation of 7th Pay Commission
Pending three installments of DA
Central government employees can expect three simultaneous payments. The employees are expected to get three installments of pay dues for the period January 1, 2020 to January 1, 2021. Apart from this, the DA for June 2021 is also expected to be announced. The government had earlier said that it would pay the arrears of the employees for 18 months. The meeting was scheduled for 8 May 2021, but was postponed due to the pandemic.
how much profit is expected
The Center has said that the stalled Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) for its employees and pensioners will be resumed from July 1, 2021. As per the 7th Pay Commission recommendations, Level 1 employees can expect DA arrears of Rs 11,880 to Rs 37,554, while Level 13 employees can expect between Rs 1,23,100 to Rs 2,15,900. Level-14 employees may get DA arrears of more than Rs 2 lakh. The government has clarified that any increase in DA from July 1 will be effective from the same day and employees will not be entitled to revise the DA of the previous period. Will not get arrears.
