Suresh Raina has been one of the most famous cricketers of Team India. Raina stunned the cricketing world when he announced his retirement from international cricket along with MS Dhoni on 15 August last year. However, the left-handed batsman remains a part of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and was last seen on the field during the first leg of IPL 2021. Raina will now be seen in action in the second leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which begins in the UAE in September.

Suresh Raina has special attachment with CSK

The 34-year-old Raina played many strong and memorable innings in the Indian Premier League. He is known as Mr IPL. He has scored 5491 runs in 200 IPL matches at an average of 33.1 and a strike rate of 136.9. Raina has played a key role in helping CSK win the title thrice in 2010, 2011 and 2018. Raina has a special affinity for CSK and the veteran batsman wants a South actor to play his role on the big screen in the biopic. Raina, who has played 18 Tests, 226 ODIs and 78 T20 Internationals, has revealed the names of two South superstars for his biopic.

‘It’s not easy to play for the country or CSK’

Suresh Raina said in a live session, “I really want someone in my biopic who can carry that spirit, because playing for the country or CSK is not easy. I want someone from the South who can really do this. They can understand how much Chennai and Chennai Super Kings mean to me. I have two-three names in my mind for this. When asked about the names of the actors, Raina stated his choice and said, ‘I would like superstar Suriya to play the role. I am sure he can do this. Also Dulquer Salmaan is also a great actor.
