Recalling how she prepared for the role, the actress shared Veronica’s personality, which she was not familiar with at that stage of her life, “When I was given the script to read I assumed it was Mira K. character (played by Penty). Imtiaz Ali called me one day and requested me to re-read Veronica’s script. After a few days of thinking about it, I understood what his I was mean. While butterflies were flying in my stomach, I knew I was up for it,” says Deepika.
She adds, “I don’t think I would have done what I would have done if it wasn’t for Homi Adajania. He gave me wings to fly and made me believe that I can do nothing wrong. With that belief, We were able to create a character that will live on in our hearts forever.”
