Abhay Deol plays the father of Hollywood actress Avantika Vandanapu in this family comedy film. During an interview, the actor revealed that he has no problem playing the actress’ father in the film.

Referring to Bollywood, Abhay said that in Bollywood, there is no objection in casting an actor above 50 years of age with an actress of 20 years, where their age is not differentiated but shown as a couple.

During an interview with Times Now Navbharat, the actor was asked if he had any problem playing the father of a teenager. Responding to this, Abhay Deol said that, if I was angry about something, I would have done what I was doing in Bollywood 10-12 years ago. I’ve never really been behind, I know who I am and where I come from. Being 39 years old, I have played a 59 year old character, I can play a character 12 years younger than myself.

The actor further said that if people think that I can do that role, then whether it is a character of 35 or 45 years, it does not matter to me. You just have to work hard so that you can do that character well. Abhay said that in Bollywood, actors who are more than 50 years old are still cast with actresses above 20 years. And in films, their age difference is not shown but as a couple. Referring to Bollywood superstars, the actor said that from Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan to Ajay Devgn, all the stars are cast with young actresses even after crossing the age of 50.
