London : After the kissing pictures of Britain’s Health Minister Matt Hancock went viral, there was such a political uproar here that he had to resign from his post. He was kissing his colleague, Gina Coladangelo, when everything was recorded on camera. The opposition expressed displeasure over his action and demanded the resignation of Matt Hancock. Although initially he refused it, but he had to resign from the post amid growing uproar.
Matt Hancock, 42, resigned as health minister on Saturday. He had to resign not because of kissing his colleague, but because of violation of Kovid rules. He broke the Kovid-19 rules by kissing one of his close aide Gina Coladangelo (43) and hence the pressure on him to resign was increasing.
Hancock apologizes
Hancock later admitted to kissing his colleague. In a letter to British Prime Minister Johnson, Hancock said that the government is indebted to those who have lost a lot in this epidemic. He again apologized for violating the government rules of following social distance when out of the house.
In a video shared on Twitter, Hancock said, “I went to hand over my resignation as health minister to the prime minister.” He said, ‘I can understand that everyone in this country has lost a lot and people like us should follow the rules that they make, so I resigned.’
Gina Coladangelo is a longtime friend and ally of Conservative leader Matt Hancock. Both have been seen together on many occasions. But in the midst of the Corona transition, there was a political ruckus here and Hancock had to lose his chair due to the violation of the rules set by the government.
