Balika Vadhu actress Pratyusha Banerjee Father reveals his financial condition

Mumbai: Late actress Pratyusha Banerjee rose to fame after starring as Anandi in Balika Vadhu. Pratyusha died by suicide in 2016. Although it was being said that Pratyusha killed herself, the actress’s parents considered it a murder. The actor’s mother had also filed a case against her boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh, accusing him of abetment to suicide. However, now, Banerjee’s father has opened up about his money problems and how he lost everything fighting for his daughter’s case. He revealed that due to financial constraints he was forced to stay in one room and take loan.

Shankar Banerjee said in a conversation with Aaj Tak, ‘After this accident, it seems as if some terrible storm has come and has taken away everything from us. We didn’t have a penny left. We have lost everything while fighting in the second case. Shankar further says, ‘We had no support other than Pratyusha. She was the one who took us to the sky and after she left we are back on the floor. Our life goes on like this. Now we are forced to live in one room. This case took everything away from us. There have been many situations where we were forced to take loans.

Shankar said that his wife is currently working in a child care centre. Even though she is short of money, the actress’ father said that her courage still remains intact. He said, ‘Anyway, a father never gives up. I want to fight till my death for Pratyusha’s rights. Pratyusha’s victory is our last hope and I am sure we will win one day.

On the other hand, model-actor Rahul Raj Singh, who was Pratyusha’s boyfriend, is awaiting relief from the court. He says that he did not kill Pratyusha but because of the greed of her parents. Rahul said that Pratyusha was unable to ‘meet their endless demands’, due to which she had to take this drastic step.
