New Delhi: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Saturday announced to increase dearness allowance of state government employees from 17 per cent to 28 per cent. The hike in dearness allowance will be effective from July 1, he said, adding that the increased dearness allowance also includes the increase of DA pending on January 1, 2020, July 1, 2020 and January 1, 2021.
According to the spokesperson, this decision will benefit 2.85 lakh government employees and 2.62 lakh pensioners of the state, while it will put an additional burden of Rs 210 crore on the exchequer every month.

Recently, the Union Cabinet had approved to increase dearness allowance to central government employees and dearness relief to pensioners to 28 per cent with effect from July 1 this year.
Good news also came for central government employees
On July 20, the Finance Ministry had issued an order to implement the decision of the Union Cabinet to increase the dearness allowance to 28% for central government employees from July 1. The Union Cabinet had decided to increase the dearness allowance and dearness relief rate by 11 percentage points for central government employees and pensioners from July 1. This will increase the new rate of DA from 17% to 28%.
Additional installments received will also be absorbed
The rate of dearness allowance to the employees will be increased from 17% of the basic pay to 28% with effect from July 1. This hike will also include additional installments due from January 1, 2020, July 1, 2020 and January 1, 2021. This order will also be applicable to the civilian employees of Defense Services Estimate Paid, separate orders will be issued by the respective ministries for the employees of the Armed Forces and the employees of the Railways.
