Mumbai: Kareena Kapoor Khan has become a well-known name in Bollywood. She has been included in Bollywood’s top actress for a long time and in today’s time, the actress often remains in discussion not only about films but also about her personal life and especially children. There has been a general perception that Kareena is a part of an affluent and long-standing film-linked Kapoor family and hence she may have been brought up in a very pampered lavish upbringing but this is not the case in real life. Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan’s mother Babita had to struggle a lot at one time to raise her and her sister Karisma Kapoor Khan. Kareena herself had disclosed this thing.

In 2011, in an interview with HT, Kareena Kapoor Khan was asked if she thought she was born with special comforts and amenities like her cousin Ranbir Kapoor. In response, the actress had said, ‘We were not raised in luxury – as people often think of the Kapoor family. My mother (Babita) and sister (Karisma) really struggled to give me a better life. Especially my mother, as she was the only one to raise us. Everything was very limited for us.’

Kareena Kapoor Khan had further said, ‘Lolo (Karisma Kapoor) used to go to college in local trains, but got saved because I did not go to college. But I took the school bus like everyone else. We had a car but didn’t have enough money to hire a driver. Mother has brought us up in such a way that we give great importance to what we have today. The bad days we have seen have made us both very strong and fragile at the same time and the experiences have made me a very profound person.’

Kareena’s sister Karisma started working very early considering the family situation. Much later in life, Kareena-Karisma’s parents Babita and Randhir Kapoor decide to reunite for the sake of their daughters. Now this family is often seen together.
