Colombo: India and Sri Lanka face each other in the second ODI on Tuesday. This match is being played at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat first in the match. Avishka Fernando and Minod Bhanuka put on 77 runs for the first wicket and got Sri Lanka off to a good start. The Indian team had to yearn for a long wicket because of this pair. In such a situation, spinner Yuzvendra Chahal played the magic of his spin and did the same amazing thing which he did in the first ODI.

Chahal again took this initiative in the second ODI

Yuzvendra Chahal had given India the first wicket in the first ODI against Sri Lanka and when the team was looking for a wicket in the second ODI, then the leg-spinner took the initiative. He gave India the first breakthrough on the second ball of the 14th over of the Sri Lankan innings. He got Minod Bhanuka (36) caught by Manish Pandey at short midwicket. Not only this, Chahal also caught Bhanuka Rajapaksa at the hands of wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan on the third ball of the same over. The Indian camp was delighted with two consecutive Sri Lankan wickets falling.

Chahal beats Virender Sehwag

Apart from these two wickets, Chahal took one more. Along with taking three wickets, he also managed to make an important achievement in his name. He has overtaken Virender Sehwag in the list of Indian players with most wickets in ODIs. Sehwag took 96 wickets in ODIs while Chahal has 97 wickets in this format. He had 92 wickets before the start of the series, but he took two wickets in the first ODI and three in the second ODI. Chahal is also close to overtaking two former India captains, Sourav Ganguly (100 ODI wickets). If he manages to take 4 more wickets in the series, he will leave Ganguly behind.
