New Delhi : After another increase in vehicle-fuel prices, diesel has crossed Rs 100 per liter in Odisha as well. Earlier, the price of diesel in Rajasthan had crossed the Rs 100 mark. Vehicle fuel prices increased again on Tuesday. According to the price notification of the public sector petroleum companies, the price of petrol has been increased by 28 paise per liter and that of diesel by 26 paise per liter. This is the 28th hike in vehicle fuel prices since May 4.

Petrol in the capital Delhi has reached its all-time high of Rs 97.50 per liter. Whereas diesel is at Rs 88.23 per litre.
Fuel prices vary from state to state due to Value Added Tax (VAT) and freight. Because of this, now petrol and now diesel have crossed Rs 100 per liter in many places.

The price of diesel, the most widely used fuel in the country, crossed Rs 100 per liter in Sri Ganganagar and Hanumangarh in Rajasthan this month. Now it has crossed Rs 100 a liter in Malkangiri (Rs 101.12 a liter) and Koraput (Rs 100.46 a liter) in Odisha.

In nine states and union territories, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha and Ladakh, the retail price of petrol has crossed Rs 100 per liter.

Petrol has already crossed the Rs 100 per liter mark in metros Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. Now petrol in Mumbai has reached Rs 103.63 per liter and diesel at Rs 95.72 per liter. This is the 28th hike in vehicle fuel prices since May 4. In 28 times, the price of petrol has increased by Rs 7.10 and that of diesel by Rs 7.50 per liter.
