Speaking about the new decision of the government, Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen, session of the Pakistan National Assembly, said that the government has now imposed a tax on talking on a mobile phone for more than five minutes. Shaukat Tareen said that talking on mobile phone for more than 5 minutes will attract 75 paise tax, but the public will not have to pay any tax on SMS and internet.

After this, users will now have to spend around Rs 2.72 instead of Rs 1.97 for a five-minute phone call. Voice calls are taxed at 75 paise in addition to 19.5% federal excise duty.
