Lahore: The Lahore Police has registered a case against hundreds of unidentified people for allegedly assaulting and stealing a woman TikToker and her associates at Greater Iqbal Park in the city on Pakistan’s Independence Day on Tuesday. According to the FIR lodged, the complainant has said that she along with her six accomplices was making a video near Minar-e-Pakistan on Independence Day when around 300 to 400 people attacked her.
“The crowd was huge and they kept throwing me in the air”
He said in the complaint that he and his associates tried hard to avoid the crowd. In view of the situation, the security guard of the park opened the gate of the enclosure around Minar-e-Pakistan, the FIR quoted the victim as saying, “However, the crowd was huge and people were crossing the enclosure and coming towards us. People were pushing and pulling me to such an extent that they tore my clothes. Many people tried to help me, but the crowd was huge and they kept throwing me in the air.”
“Her ring and earrings were forcibly taken away”
The complaint further states that his associates were also assaulted. During the struggle, her ring and earrings were forcibly snatched, as well as the mobile phone of one of her accomplices, her identity card and Rs 15,000 in her possession.
“Unknown people attacked us violently”
The complainant said, “Unknown persons attacked us violently.” Sections such as assault or use of criminal force against the woman as well as stripping her of her clothes, theft and causing riot have been added in the FIR. A video of the incident started doing the rounds on social media, following which common citizens of the country have expressed anger over the actions of the men in the video.
