The government on Friday announced various relief measures for taxpayers, including the facility to link PAN and Aadhaar from June 30 to September 30. If you fail to link PAN and Aadhaar then your PAN becomes invalid. As per section 139AA, it is mandatory for every individual to mention Aadhaar number in his income tax return and application for allotment of PAN provided they be eligible to receive.
Earlier the deadline was till 30 June
Keeping in view the difficulties of the taxpayers, the Central Government had issued a notification regarding the extension of the last date for information of Aadhaar number to June 30, 2021. Apart from this, some other announcements have been made for the benefit of the taxpayers. Tax exemption for those who help Kovid victims

Experts say that this announcement has brought significant relief to the beneficiaries of Kovid relief. Any financial assistance received by the taxpayer for the treatment of COVID will be completely tax free. Further, financial assistance given by an employer in the event of death of an employee due to COVID is fully exempted on assistance received from others up to a total of Rs. 10 lakhs. These benefits are available for the financial year 2019-20 and onwards.
