Supplementary Budget of UP: Supplementary Budget of Rs 7301.52 crore presented in Uttar Pradesh Assembly

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government presented a supplementary budget of Rs 7301.52 crore in the Assembly on Wednesday for the financial year 2021-22. Presenting the supplementary budget, Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna said that it is a budget of Rs 7301.52 crore, which is 1.33 percent of the annual budget of Rs 5 lakh 50 thousand crore set for the current financial year.

He said that this is a very small supplementary budget and special attention has been given to those things which are very public welfare or to fulfill some scheme. The Finance Minister said, “There are also some new demands in this. A provision of Rs 3000 crore has been made to create employment opportunities especially for the youth. Payment of sugarcane price, social security fund for advocates, construction of Ambedkar memorial and cultural centre, increase in honorarium for Anganwadi, ASHA workers and watchmen, improvement in electricity system, maintenance of bovine animals and facilities and parking arrangements in Ayodhya and At the same time, some of the main things like infrastructure enhancement are included in the supplementary budget.

Khanna said, “There will be a detailed discussion on this tomorrow but we want to specifically say that in this four-and-a-half year government, the public’s attitude has changed. Public vision is the biggest criterion for the evaluation of any government and today the Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has set new records and has broken many old records.

“That’s why I want to request the entire house that this is a supplementary budget of only 1.33 percent. It would be great if everyone passes it without discussion,” he said.

While presenting the supplementary budget, the Finance Minister started telling the achievements of the government, then Leader of Opposition Ram Govind Chaudhary said that “It is also in the manual and it has been a tradition that while presenting the supplementary budget, it is said that it presents the budget.” But you (Finance Minister) did the whole speech and it was also said that this government has set many records.” To this, Khanna said, “It is absolutely right, this (pointing to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath). So he is the Ram of politics and he is sitting here only to defeat the demonic forces. Members of the ruling party supported Khanna by thumping tables and raising slogans.
