New Delhi: The Taliban, who have taken control of Afghanistan, have held a press conference. Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said that the security of the embassies in Kabul is important to us. We would like to assure all foreign countries that our forces are there to ensure the security of all Embassies, Missions, International Organizations and Aid Agencies. The Taliban is committed to providing women their rights on the basis of Islam. Women can work in the health sector and other areas where needed. There will be no discrimination against women.
‘Forgive everyone’
Mujahid says that the security of foreign embassies is important to them and they take a pledge that the embassies will be completely safe. The Islamic Emirate is promising all the countries of the world that there will be no threat to any country from Afghanistan. A Taliban spokesman earlier told a news conference that Afghanistan was now liberated and the group wanted no revenge. After his occupation of the country everyone has been pardoned and political talks are on.
“They want all the media organizations to continue their activities. He has three suggestions: no broadcast should be contrary to Islamic values, they should be fair, no one should broadcast anything that is against our national interests.
What is the difference between the Taliban before and now?
Responding to a question about the Taliban of the 1990s and the Taliban of today, Zabihullah Mujahid said that ideology and belief are similar because they are Muslims, but there is a change in terms of experience – they are more experienced and they have a different point of view. He said that we want to set up a government in which all parties are involved.
“We want to assure our neighbors and regional countries that we will not allow our territory to be used against any country in the world,” Mujahid said. The global community should rest assured that we are committed that you will not harm our soil in any way.
