Mumbai: Ever since the impact of the global pandemic has been seen in India, many artists are trying to extend all possible help to the needy. Some are distributing food, some clothes and other things. Celebs are also extending their helping hand and are often seen helping the needy. Recently, TV actor Shalin Bhanot extended a helping hand to sex workers and shared his heart-wrenching experience.

Shalin, known for his role in Naagin 4 serial and Duryodhana, has shared a video helping sex workers. Shaleen visited Kamathipura, Mumbai’s largest red light area, which houses over 1300 sex workers and distributed basic items like soap and face masks along with ration to over 100 families. In the video, the actor can be seen interacting with the sex worker and she is seen blessing Shaleen for help.

Sharing the video, the actor wrote that he was inspired by Sonu Sood ‘Bhaiyya’ and came forward to help. The actor began his caption by writing that as his car rammed the small lanes of Kamathipura, Mumbai, he suddenly felt a ‘desolated and lifeless’ experience. He said that during the second lockdown, he was feeling restless.

The actor also said that there is no dearth of generosity and humanity in this era, which we all call Kaliyug and many people are helping the needy. Shalin Bhanot wrote in his post, ‘I did my research and learned how our red light field was not lucky enough to attract anyone’s attention. I met a social worker from that area. When he told that women are selling themselves for 50 rupees. I was shocked. I wanted to bring people together, raise money for them but they always say, lead by example. So I did whatever I did. Learned about their immediate needs and tried to help around 100 families.

The actor concluded with a question and wrote, ‘When I was about to leave, some ladies came running to me, their eyes moist, they tied their dupatta like a mask. I will try my best for such people but I also want you guys to come forward and help me. I am really looking for suggestions. Can we try to save our women?’
