New Delhi : Mehul Choksi, accused of PNB scam and lodged in Dominica jail, is adopting tactics for his release. Now his lawyers have filed an application in the Dominica High Court against the police chief, the minister of national security and officials investigating his illegal entry into the country. A 10-page application filed in the court by Choksi’s lawyers has sought quashing of criminal cases against Choksi. Choksi’s team has demanded the court to remove the criminal charge against Mehul. Two bail applications were also filed on behalf of Choksi but the hearing on it has been postponed.

Hearing on two applications of Choksi adjourned
Two applications have been filed on behalf of Choksi in the Dominica High Court. One application is related to his bail while the other application is related to judicial review. The court will hear Choksi’s bail application on July 23 and will hear the petition for judicial review on August 27. Choksi, an accused in the Rs 13,500 crore PNB scam, has once again filed an application for his bail. Earlier also his bail applications have been rejected.

Choksi has Antigua citizenship
Choksi has been living in Antigua and Barbuda since 2018. He holds Antigua citizenship but mysteriously went missing from Antigua on 23 May. He was arrested for illegally entering Dominica. Choksi claims that he was kidnapped from Antigua and brought to Dominica. While the Dominica authorities have been dismissing the theory of him being kidnapped.
