- The Sri Lankan team surprised the batsmen of Team India in the third T20 match.
- One of India’s worst performances in T20 International cricket so far
- Indian team could score only 81 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs.
The third and deciding match of T20 played between India and Sri Lanka at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo was like a nightmare for the Indian team. The Indian team led by Shikhar Dhawan had come into this match with the intention of winning the series but after that the condition of the Sri Lankan bowlers was shocking. In the match, Team India decided to bat first after winning the toss but after some time this decision looked wrong in every sense. Sri Lanka allowed the Indian team to score only 81 runs in 20 overs and dropped 8 wickets during this period.
When Team India came out to bat in the match, young batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad was on the pitch along with captain Shikhar Dhawan. De Silva dismissed captain Shikhar Dhawan on the fourth ball of the first over, he could not even open the account. After this, this trend continued for a while and the Indian team could score only 81 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 8 wickets. It was just lucky that Team India was not all out.
This is how the Indian innings collapsed in the third T20
1st wicket – Shikhar Dhawan (0 Run) – 0.4 overs, Score 5/1
2nd wicket – Devdutt Padikkal (9 runs) – 3.6 overs, Score 23/2

What is the minimum score in Indian T20 history?
If we talk about the minimum score of Team India in international cricket, then on Thursday, India avoided breaking that unwanted record. India’s shortest T20I score came against Australia in 2008 in Melbourne when Team India was reduced to 74 runs in 17.3 overs. Thursday’s score has now come to third place in this list, These are India’s five lowest T20 scores.
74 runs – in 17.3 overs – against Australia (Melbourne, 2008)
79 runs – in 18.1 overs – against New Zealand (Nagpur, 2016)
81/8 – In 20 overs – against Sri Lanka (Colombo, 2021)
92 runs – in 17.2 overs – against South Africa (Cuttack, 2015)
101 runs – in 18.5 overs – against Sri Lanka (Pune, 2016))
This Sri Lankan bowler did wonders
The credit for making the Indian team so bad goes to Sri Lankan spinner Wanindu Hasaranga, who bowled well. This spinner took 4 wickets in his 4 overs while conceding 9 runs. He dismissed Gaikwad, Samson, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Varun Chakraborty.
