Mumbai. Dilip Kumar passed away on 7 July. Many Bollywood celebs are sharing many memories related to him even five days after his death. Director Rumi Jaffrey told that Dilip Kumar was surprised to know that many celebrities take money to go to the wedding.

In a conversation with the Times of India, Rumi Jaffrey said, ‘I remember one day he came to me and sat down on the sofa next to me. He asked me if there are reports in the media that film stars take money for going to the wedding. Is this true or is it a ploy to malign his image. On this I told him that it is true that actors charge money to attend a wedding.

Dilip Kumar was surprised
Rumi Jaffrey further says, ‘I go to the wedding but do not charge any money. I only go to bless the married couple. I do not charge any money even for going to the opening of the showroom. When I come back from there, I only pray that the business of that fellow goes ahead, because I do not want anyone to blame me later that ‘his hands are wretched.’

Shared anecdote of Sunil Dutt
Rumi Jaffrey has also shared the anecdote of the friendship of Dilip Kumar and Sunil Dutt. Rumi told that when I reached his house, Saira Banu and Dilip Kumar’s brother Ehsin told me about the lift failure.

Rumi further says, ‘Saira Banu told that I and Saira Banu climbed 11 floors and reached the top. Saira ji told me that Dilip Kumar will not climb the ladder when we see after 20 minutes that despite being a heart patient, Dilip Kumar climbed 11 floors to meet Sunil Dutt for the last time.
