Joe Root’s century at the historic Lord’s ground became very special as he made a flurry of records due to this century.

Joe Root completed 9,000 runs of his Test career during this innings. Root became the second English player to cross the 9,000 test run mark. Earlier, Alastair Cook was the only English batsman to have crossed this figure. Apart from this, Joe Root became the second youngest cricketer to complete 9,000 Test runs. Root crossed the 9,000-run mark at the age of 30 years and 227 days.

With this, Root joined the special club of Cook and Sachin Tendulkar. Alastair Cook completed 9,000 runs at the age of 30 years and 159 days. At the same time, Sachin Tendulkar crossed this figure at the age of 30 years and 253 days.
