Kabul : The situation in Afghanistan is deteriorating rapidly. US intelligence agencies have indicated this in their latest assessment. A US defense official told Reuters news agency that intelligence agencies believe the Taliban could isolate the capital Kabul in the next 30 days and take control of it in 90 days. Earlier, US intelligence agencies had said in their assessment that it could take the Taliban six months to take Kabul under their control.
So far the Taliban have captured nine provincial capitals.

Fighting intensifies in Kandahar, the second largest city
The conflict between Taliban fighters and security forces has escalated in Kandahar. At least 47 people including a woman, children, police were brought here to Mirwaiz Hospital in Kandahar. People say that the fight with the Taliban has reached the hospital in the country’s second largest city. Taliban fighters want to take control of the city.
