Mumbai: The Life Insurance Corporation of India has given relief to policyholders who invest in annuity schemes. The Corporation has allowed these policyholders to submit the Certificate of Survival (Life Certificate) through e-mail. Therefore, the annuity policy holder does not need to go to the LIC office for the life certificate.

LIC has made some important decisions for annuity policies. In which the deadline for submission of life certificate for annuities (capital option) is 31st October 2021. The facility of sending life certificate through e-mail has been made available. Apart from that, LIC has also introduced the facility of accepting life certificates through video calls.

In addition, LIC has relaxed the rules on death claims in view of the seriousness of the second wave of corona. Prompt disposal of death claims has been expedited. In case of death of a policyholder in a hospital, other documents are being accepted from LIC instead of death certificate of the municipality.
