New Delhi : Microsoft has announced the addition of Cortana-enabled voice feature to its Outlook mobile app. With its help, users will be able to compose emails, schedule meetings and search. Previously available in Outlook for iOS, a new icon will appear in Outlook Mobile to activate Voice Mode. Users can also reply to messages and compose new emails with their voice.
In a statement on Tuesday, Microsoft said there was a 148 percent increase in typically weekly meetings, with average time taken between 6 and 29 minutes. To make online meetings easier, Scheduler is a new Microsoft 365 service available, the company said.
The company said that the scheduler understands what you are writing. So you can communicate your requests to Cortana just like you’d ask someone for help scheduling a meeting in an email. As the scheduler learns, you get responses from Cortana asking you to clarify some questions or provide more details to fulfill your request. Scheduler is the first artificial intelligence service with human assistance in Microsoft 365 that allows Cortana to work without specific keywords.
Microsoft said that with Scheduler, Cortana has access to the same information you would when you schedule a meeting. This includes you and your colleague’s Outlook free/busy availability without access to any further details. The scheduler is enabled independently of other Cortana services, such as Cortana for Windows 10 and briefing emails from Cortana.
