New Delhi : Bengaluru has become the third metropolis after Mumbai and Hyderabad, where the price of petrol has crossed Rs 100 per liter. Vehicle fuel prices increased again on Friday. According to the price notification of the public sector petroleum companies, the price of petrol has been increased by 27 paise per liter and that of diesel by 28 paise per liter. This is the 26th hike in vehicle fuel prices in the past seven weeks. Due to this, the prices of petrol and diesel have reached a historic high in the country.
Petrol crosses 100 in eight states and union territories
Petrol in the capital Delhi has reached its all-time high of Rs 96.93 per liter. Whereas diesel is at Rs 87.69 per litre. Fuel prices vary from state to state due to Value Added Tax (VAT) and freight charges. For this reason, now the retail price of petrol has crossed Rs 100 per liter in eight states and union territories…..Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Petrol had already touched Rs 100 per liter in several districts of Karnataka.
Petrol crosses 100 in these cities
Petrol in Karnataka’s capital Bengaluru crossed the Rs 100 mark on Friday. Petrol now costs Rs 100.17 per liter and diesel Rs 92.97 per liter in the city. Bengaluru is the third metropolis where petrol has crossed Rs 100 per liter. Petrol in Mumbai crossed Rs 100 per liter on 29 May. At present, petrol is being sold at Rs 103.08 per liter and diesel at Rs 95.14 per liter in Mumbai. While petrol in Leh had already crossed Rs 100 per liter, in Srinagar it crossed this figure on Friday. Petrol at India Oil Corporation petrol pumps in the city is Rs 99.99 per liter and HPCL pumps Rs 100.04 per liter.
Diesel also crosses Rs 100 in Sriganganagar
Sri Ganganagar of Rajasthan is the first district in the country where petrol first crossed Rs 100 per liter. In mid-February, petrol had reached Rs 100 per liter there. Diesel also crossed Rs 100 per liter in Sriganganagar last week. Now petrol is being sold at Rs 108.07 per liter and diesel Rs 100.82 per liter in the city.
