Mumbai: Director Sameer Vidwan is all set to direct Kartik Aaryan starrer ‘Satyanarayana Ki Katha’. On Saturday night, he released an official statement regarding the change in the title of the film. The director claims that the decision to change the name is aimed at avoiding hurting religious sentiments. Vidwans shared the statement on Twitter and Kartik also tweeted it from his Twitter handle. The actor also shared it on Instagram.

As per the statement of Sameer Vidwan, “The title of a film is something that emerges organically through the creative process. We have decided to change the title of our recently announced film ‘Satyanarayan Ki Katha’ to avoid hurting sentiments, even if it is an unintentional act. The film’s producers and creative team are also in full support of the decision. We will be announcing a new title for our love story during our journey. – Sameer Vidwan.

Details about the new title are still kept secret. Kartik had officially announced the title of the film last month with the motion poster of the film shared on Instagram. Along with the motion poster on Instagram, Kartik wrote: ‘A story close to my heart #SatyanarayanaKi Katha. A special film with special people.’

Talking about the film, Kartik had said, “Satyanarayana Ki Katha is a musical love saga that brings together a powerhouse of National Award winning people. This is also my first time working with Sameer Vidwan sir, who has the knack of presenting sensitive subjects in a very entertaining manner.

Karthik had said, ‘Honestly, I feel a lot of pressure and responsibility, because I am the only member in this team without a National Award.’

Let us tell you that there was a sharp protest in many places regarding the name of the film and from time to time there has been an uproar over the use of names related to religion in the film. Some Hindu organizations even threatened to darken the face of producer Sajid Nadiadwala.
