New Delhi: If you want to see how water behaves when you pour water from a bottle into space, you have to go to YouTube. But not all solids and liquids behave the same way in space. Have you ever wondered what it would be like if someone opened a container of honey in space?
An astronaut shared a video that shows how honey behaves in a zero-gravity environment. The clip was posted online by Canadian Space Agency astronaut David Saint-Jacques.
“I’ll show you the strange behavior of honey in zero-g,” says David, before he begins to open the lid of the honey container. When the lid is open and far from the edge, the honey begins to stretch but break. Not there. A few seconds later, David moves the spread honey around.” Strange things happen when you remove gravity,” David says at the end.
The clip was shared on YouTube by the Canadian Space Agency in 2019. One user wrote, “I will be playing with honey all day long, forgetting the work I have to do.” Another user wrote, “Imagine when they come back downstairs and they forget that their food can’t float around anymore.”
