London : Britain’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson confirmed on Monday that most of the coronavirus restrictions as part of the final phase of England’s roadmap out of lockdown are due to end on 19 July. Johnson told a news conference in Downing Street that face masks and distancing rules will no longer be legally required in England from 19 July.

The Prime Minister said that the rule of six inside private homes will also be removed and the work-from-home guidance will be done away with. Only the British government is responsible for the coronavirus restrictions in England, reports Xinhua news agency. The governments of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are themselves responsible for their own policies regarding public health matters.

1.28 lakh have lost their lives due to Kovid in Britain

Johnson previously announced a four-week delay in the final phase of England’s roadmap from Covid-19 restrictions until 19 July, amid a surge in cases of the delta variant first identified in India. Britain reported another 27,334 coronavirus cases in a 24-hour period, bringing the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 4,930,534, according to official figures released on Monday.

Another nine coronavirus-related deaths were also recorded in the country. The total number of coronavirus deaths in the UK now stands at 128,231. These figures only include deaths of people who died within 28 days of their first positive test.

Vaccination work is going on fast

Official figures showed that in the UK more than 45.3 million people have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and more than 33.7 million have received two doses. In order to bring life back to normalcy, countries like UK, China, Russia, United States of America as well as the European Union are moving fast to introduce coronavirus vaccines over time.
