New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Covin Global Conclave today. PM Modi said that I express my deepest condolences to those who lost their lives in all countries due to the pandemic. There is no parallel to such an epidemic in 100 years. Experience shows that no nation, no matter how powerful that nation is, cannot solve such a challenge in isolation. Since the beginning of the pandemic, India is committed to sharing all its experiences, expertise and resources with the global community in this fight. Despite all our obstacles, we have tried to share as much as possible with the world.
Modi said, ‘Technology is an integral part of our fight against Kovid-19. Fortunately software is an area that has no dearth of resources. So we made our COVID tracing and tracking app open source as soon as it is technically possible.
He said that vaccination is the best hope for humanity to emerge from the pandemic successfully. And from the very beginning we decided to take a completely digital approach when planning our vaccination strategy in India. PM Modi said, ‘Indian civilization considers the whole world as one family. This pandemic has made many people realize the fundamental truth of this philosophy. Therefore, our technology platform for COVID vaccination, which we call CoWin, is being built to be open source.
