New Delhi : Twitter has said that it has fixed a technical flaw in its service. In one of its tweets, Twitter Support said on Thursday, ‘And we are back. Users of Twitter should now get the services as expected. We apologize for the inconvenience.’ Earlier, there was a technical problem in the services of microblogging platform Twitter. Several Twitter users complained that they were having trouble posting, searching and sharing content.

A search on Twitter showed the site with a message ‘Something went wrong, try reloading’. On this technical issue, Twitter said, ‘There may be a problem loading profile tweets for some people on the web. We are working to fix this flaw. Thank you for staying connected with us!’

Trouble came in the month of April too
According to the monitoring website DownDetector, more than 6,000 users complained that they had problems. 93 percent of these complaints were related to the Twitter website. Trouble with Twitter’s services also came in April of this year.

Twitter’s dispute with the Indian government
There has been a tussle between Twitter and the government for the last few months over the new rules of the Department of Information Technology in India. Twitter says that following the new rules will hamper people’s freedom of expression, while the government says that social media companies must follow these rules to protect the national interest and rights of the people.

Twitter has lost its ‘legal protection’ status
The government had given time till May 25 to social media companies with more than 50 lakh users to comply with its new rules. Twitter has not yet fully complied with the new rules. Twitter has lost its ‘legal protection’ status for not complying with the rules. After the end of this status, four cases have been registered against Twitter in India for objectionable and violence-related materials. Under the new IT rules, social media companies have to appoint grievance redressal, compliance and nodal officers in India.
