ENG vs PAK 3rd T20I: England also proved to be victorious in the third and final match of the T20 International series played between England and Pakistan at Old Trafford (Manchester). The host English team failed the Pakistani team in every department in this match and won the match by three wickets to take the series 2-1. English opener Jason Roy became the star in the final match. While the title of ‘Man of the Series’ went to Liam Livingstone, who scored a century in this series and bowled well along with playing other important innings.

Pakistan’s innings, only Rizwan went

In this third and final T20 match, Pakistan team won the toss and decided to bat first. Pakistan’s wicket-keeper batsman and opener Mohammad Rizwan gave his team a great start and scored a fine half-century. Rizwan played an unbeaten 76 off 57 balls, which included 3 sixes and 5 fours. He remained on the pitch from the first ball to the last ball but the rest of the batsmen did not give him much support.

Amazing spin by Adil Rashid

Babar Azam got out for 11 runs, Sohaib Maqsood 13 runs, Mohammad Hafeez 1 run, Fakhar Zaman 24 runs, Shadab Khan 2 runs and Imad Wasim 3 runs. As a result, Pakistan team scored 154 runs losing 7 wickets in 20 overs. During this, Adil Rashid wreaked havoc with his spin on behalf of England. Rashid took 4 wickets in 4 overs while conceding 35 runs. He took wickets of all the important players which included Babar, Maqsood, Hafeez and Shadab. One wicket was taken by Moeen Ali.

Jason Roy shines after a befitting reply from England batsmen

The target of 155 runs was now in front of the host England team. While Pakistan’s opener Rizwan scored a half-century, his opener Jason Roy gave a befitting reply from England’s side. Jason Roy played a blistering innings of 64 runs in 36 balls during which he hit 12 fours and 1 six. Apart from him, Jos Buttler contributed 21 runs and David Malan contributed 31 runs. Apart from this, captain Eoin Morgan scored 21 runs in 12 balls.

Johnny Baristo (5), Moeen Ali (1) and Liam Livingstone (6) were dismissed early, but by then England were close to the target. England chased down the target with two balls to spare for the loss of 7 wickets. With this, they won the T20 series by 2-1.
