Dubai: The ICC on Wednesday released the latest rankings, which include the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League series and the current series between Ireland and South Africa. The only Test between Zimbabwe-West Indies is involved. Apart from this, the result of the ongoing T20 International series between West Indies and Australia has also made a difference in the rankings.
West Indies spinner Fabian Allen has broken into the top-10 of the ICC T20 International bowling rankings. The 26-year-old spinner jumped 16 places to finish 10th. West Indies have maintained an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match T20I series. Caribbean fast bowler Sheldon Cottrell has moved up two places to 22nd, Dwayne Bravo (up 7 places to 37th) and Obed McCoy (up 15 places to 38th) have also moved up the rankings.
Shimron Hetmyer, Lendl Simmons, Chris Gayle and Andre Russell have also taken long jumps. Hetmyer was 62nd, Simmons 64th, Gayle and Russell jumped 22nd and 38th to joint 103rd. Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc has gained five places and is in 29th place.
Talking about the ICC ODI rankings, Babar Azam, who played the best innings of his career in the third and final match against England, got the advantage of eight rating points and continues to dominate the top spot. Babar Azam has 873 rating. Indian captain Virat Kohli is in second place with 857 ratings. Rohit Sharma remains at the third position with 825 points.
Ireland’s William Porterfield (up 5 places to 74th) and Harry Tector (up 37 places to 90th), South Africa’s Sweetheart Malan (up 12 places to 95th) and England’s James Vince (up 85 places) Together they reached 113th place. England’s fast bowler Saqib Mahmood (up 89 places to 63rd), Ireland’s Craig Young (up 4 places to 78th) and Joshua Little (up 22 places to 86th) continue in the bowlers’ list.
Zimbabwe captain Brendan Taylor has gained seven places to move up to 28th in the ICC Men’s Test Rankings. Among bowlers, Blessing Mujarbani has moved up six places to 45th and Donald Tiripano has moved up three places to 76th in the bowlers’ list. For Bangladesh, Shatabdi Mahmudullah gained 19 places to move up to 44th place. Liton Das moved up 15 places to 55th position.
