The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the upcoming T20 World Cup (T20 World Cup 2021) The participating countries have been allowed to bring 15 players and eight officials to the tournament in the UAE (United Arab Emirates). A Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official confirmed on Friday that the ICC has set September 10 as the deadline for the participating countries to send a list of their last 15 players and eight officials consisting of coaches and support members.

This official told PTI-language, “The ICC has allowed the participating countries in the T20 World Cup to bring additional players with the team in view of the situation of Kovid-19 and bio-bubble (bio-security). But the cost of this will have to be borne by the respective boards.” He said, “The ICC bears only 15 players and eight officials.”

The T20 World Cup, being held for the first time since 2016, will be held in Oman and UAE (Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah) from October 17 to November 14. The eight-nation qualifying tournament will be played from September 23, which also includes teams from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Ireland. Out of this, four teams will qualify for the Super-12 stage.

The ICC has informed the boards that they can make last minute changes to their squads up to five days before the start of the quarantine period. He said, “However, the board will have to send its team list by September 10.” The tournament was to be held in India, but due to the situation of Kovid-19, the ICC shifted it to the UAE.
