Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the M-Yoga app on Monday (June 21) on the occasion of the 7th International Yoga Day. Developed jointly by the Ministry of AYUSH and the World Health Organization (WHO), the mYoga app aims to provide yoga training and practice sessions of varying durations to the common people and enthusiasts. On this occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing the country and the world said that now the world is going to get the power of M-Yoga app. In this, many videos of yoga training will be available in different languages of the world. This app will play a big role in expanding Yoga to the world and making the efforts of One World, One Health successful.
What is M-Yoga App?
The M-Yoga app can be used as a daily yoga companion for individuals aged 12-65 years. The WHO says the app was developed through a review of the scientific literature and extensive international expert consultation. Designed to encourage people to practice quality yoga at the touch of their smartphone. mYoga app is safe secure, and it does not take any data from users. Currently, it is available in French, English and Hindi, with more languages to be added in the coming months. Android users can download the mYoga app from the Google Play Store. The PM said that this app has been designed with an aim to make yoga more accessible to people across the world, it is a great example of amalgamation of modern technology and ancient science.Giving information about the launch of M-Yoga App related to yoga, the Prime Minister said that when the invisible virus of Corona had knocked in the world, then no country was ready for it by means, by strength and by mental state. At such times, yoga became a great means of self-confidence. Yoga made people believe that we can fight this disease. Today, when the whole world is fighting the corona pandemic, yoga remains a ray of hope. Despite Corona, the theme of this year’s Yoga Day ‘Yoga for Wellness’ has further increased the enthusiasm for yoga among crores of people. The Prime Minister said that the great Tamil saint Sri Thiruvalluvar ji said that if there is any disease then go to its root, find out what is the cause of the disease, then start its treatment. This is the way yoga shows.
The PM said that when India proposed International Day of Yoga in the United Nations, it was the spirit behind it that this science of yoga should be accessible to the whole world. Today, India has taken another important step in this direction along with UN, WHO.
