‘If I had to use my father’s contacts, I wouldn’t be doing television, I would be doing movies. I would have been doing something big in the Punjabi film industry because my father is very active there. Kanwar Dhillon further added, ‘Ultimately your work speaks, your development speaks and what you are doing on screen. He speaks what is in front of the camera. There are many star sons who have come and disappeared. So that’s all destiny. If I had a lot of contacts, I would do back-to-back shows. If I was so lucky, I wouldn’t have to wait between 1.5 years or 8 months to find another show. If people can’t see it, what else should I explain?’

He is such a person, whom I have never seen anyone asking for work and speaking for work. He is a self made person. He was a farmer in Punjab and moved to Bombay, he struggled and made it on his own. Whatever work he did, he did it respectfully and never asked for work. Why should I tell the person who didn’t call for himself, call for me? How can I expect him to ask someone to work on behalf of his son?
