Mumbai: Popular VJ-model-actress Mandira Bedi’s filmmaker husband Raj Kaushal died of a heart attack on June 30. Raj was 49 years old at the time of his death. In the pictures that surfaced, Mandira can be seen paying her last respects and carrying the bier outside her house.

Mandira’s eyes were moist while saying the last goodbye to Raj, but seeing her lifting the money by going beyond the rules and regulations, the eyes of the other people present on the spot also became moist. Tears welled up in Mandira’s eyes seeing her husband for the last time.

Traditionally, in Indian families, a woman is not expected to visit the cremation ground. However, Mandira breaks these stereotypes and supports her husband.

Raj is survived by his wife Mandira and two children. The couple has a 9-year-old son named Veer Kaushal. In July last year, the couple also adopted a 4-year-old girl, whom they affectionately named Tara.

Mandira Bedi and Raj Kaushal got married in 1999. Apart from being a filmmaker, Raj Kaushal was also known as a writer and director, he directed films like Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhie, Shaadi Ka Laddu and Anthony Kaun Hai.
