London: Indian pacer Mohammad Siraj has been in terrific form and his style of celebrating with a finger on his lips after taking a wicket hides the message of keeping his critics shut. Siraj took four wickets in his first Test at Lord’s.

‘Critics have been talking a lot about me’

When asked why he keeps a finger on his mouth after every wicket, he said, “It is for the critics who have been talking a lot about me. For example I can’t do this or can’t do that, so now my ball will answer them. This is my new way of celebrating.

A bottle cork was thrown at batsman KL Rahul from the spectators’ gallery on the third day of the second Test but Siraj said he was not aware of it. He said, ‘I did not see what happened but the audience did not utter any abusive words’.

‘I don’t use a lot of tactics’

Siraj said that he is constantly emphasizing on bowling well. He said, ‘When I played Ranji Trophy for the first time, I had the same target. I don’t use too much strategy as it can affect my bowling and the performance of the team.
