Pakistan’s Highest T20I Total: Babar Azam shines as Pakistan cricket team scores its highest T20 International total of 232 runs

In the first T20 International match played between England and Pakistan (ENG vs PAK 1st T20I), the batsmen of the Pakistani team made a lot of noise. In the match, England won the toss and invited the Pakistan team to bat first. The Pakistan team did not let this opportunity go to waste and scored the biggest score (232 runs) in their T20 International cricket history, raining runs at the Trent Bridge ground (Nottingham). Later England also raised hopes on the back of a blistering century from Liam Livingstone (103 runs) but he was dismissed for 201 runs and Pakistan won the match by 31 runs.

From Pakistan’s side, both of its openers first rocked. First, Babar Azam scored his 19th T20 International fifty in 35 balls. Whereas shortly after, Mohammad Rizwan completed his fifty in 34 balls. Both the batsmen continued to bat at their full speed even after this.

Where Rizwan played a blistering innings of 63 runs in 41 balls which included 1 six and 8 fours. Babar Azam scored 89 runs in 49 balls with the help of 3 sixes and 8 fours. Both the batsmen executed a 150-run partnership for the first wicket. Their excellent partnership ended in the 15th over.

Pakistan had made a good catch but after Babar and Rizwan, Sohaib Maqsood was dismissed for 19 runs, it seemed that the score would now slip but Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Hafeez made a splash after this. Fakhar Zaman scored 26 runs in 8 balls with the help of 3 sixes and 1 four while Mohammad Hafeez scored 24 runs in 10 balls with the help of 3 sixes and 1 four.

Azam Khan, son of former legend Moin Khan, also made his international debut and scored an unbeaten 5 runs in 3 balls, through which Pakistan scored 232 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. Earlier, Pakistan’s best T20 score came against South Africa in April this year when Pakistan scored 205 for the loss of 1 wicket at the Centurion ground. Now that record has been broken.
