Raj Kundra was arrested by the Mumbai Police on 19 July. He was arrested for allegedly being a key conspirator in the production of pornographic films. It all started on February 4 this year when the Mumbai Police arrested five people for allegedly forcibly making porn films on women.

During the investigation, Raj’s name cropped up. After which Shilpa Shetty’s husband had sought anticipatory bail in June 2021. Raj’s anticipatory bail was filed by the cyber police in connection with a complaint alleging that some online platforms were publishing obscene videos. An employee linked to Raj is also among those arrested. Raj is now in police custody since July 19 and his bail plea was extended on July 23 till July 27.

Now it is being reported by ANI that Raj is being sent to judicial custody for 14 days. “Maharashtra: A Mumbai court sends actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband Raj Kundra and Ryan Thorpe to 14 days judicial custody in pornography racket case,” the tweet read.

Raj’s house was raided last week and reports claim that Shilpa broke down during the investigation. Reports say that Shilpa was very upset and had a huge argument with Raj. Sources in the Mumbai Police told ANI that the distraught Shilpa had told Kundra that her actions were causing the family name to be defamed and that her advertisements in the industry were being canceled and the family was suffering huge financial losses. He asked her what needed to be done. Such things when achieved a position in the society.

Raj was charged under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 420 (cheating), 34 (general intent), 292 and 293 (relating to obscene and obscene advertisements and demonstrations) and relevant sections of the IT Act and the Indecent Representation of Women Act. Huh.
