Dublin: Ireland captain Andy Balbirnie created history by scoring a century against South Africa on Tuesday. In the second ODI played in Dublin, Balbirnie came to the opening and scored 102 runs in 117 balls with the help of 10 fours and two sixes. The Irish captain scored the 7th century of his ODI career. With this century, Andy Balbirnie made a very special achievement in his name.

Andy Balbirnie has become the first Ireland batsman to score a century in ODIs against South Africa. With this, Andy Balbirnie also became the Irish player to score the highest individual score against South Africa. Earlier, the record of making the highest individual score for Ireland against South Africa was held by former captain William Porterfield, who scored 64 runs.
