Team India’s batting coach Vikram Rathor defended the Indian batsmen saying that poor form is part of the game and they will score runs quickly. Rathore said that Indian batsmen are working hard in the nets to recover from the bad phase.
Asked after the fourth day’s play of the second Test against England whether the continued poor performance of the batsmen abroad had put pressure on him, he said, “No, not at all.” are working hard. It is a different situation and we are working very hard with the players. They are trying their best, working hard and practicing. The results will be out soon.”
He said, “While playing cricket as a batsman, bad times also come. You have to work hard to get through it and keep the process right. As support staff, we are helping them do that.”
Rathore said, “As far as the pressure on us is concerned, it is not so. But even after working hard, if someone fails then there is worry. We have faith in all the batsmen and they are working very hard. Will score runs very soon.
When asked about the batsmen, he advised Rohit Sharma to be more careful in selecting the shots. At the same time, he said that captain Virat Kohli lost wickets due to loss of concentration.
