Karim said that in honor of MS Dhoni’s contribution to Indian cricket, BCCI should retire his iconic jersey number-7. Dhoni has been one of the most successful captains and his records prove it well. Along with being one of the most successful captains in the world, Dhoni has been the best wicket-keeper batsman in the country.

The former India captain celebrated his 40th birthday on Wednesday and cricket fans from across the globe wished Dhoni. Talking about Dhoni’s contribution to Indian cricket on his birthday, Saba Karim said that not only Dhoni but BCCI should also retire the jerseys of other veterans so that his legacy lives on.

While interacting in the Khelneeti podcast, Saba Karim said, “I think not only MS Dhoni’s jersey, BCCI should preserve the jerseys of many other Indian legends. The board should ensure that the jersey number of that legend is not used by anyone else. In this way the achievements and contributions of the legends of Indian cricket will be recognized. Most importantly, doing this will bring respect to these legends.
