South African fast bowler Dale Steyn, popularly known as ‘Stan Gun’, is celebrating his 38th birthday on Sunday. Stan was born on June 27, 1983 in Phalborwa, South Africa. Steyn injured Cumming in 2007
The New Zealand team visited South Africa in 2007/08. Tests were also played in that series at Centurion and on the second day of the match, Dale Steyn badly injured Craig Cumming. Cumming Hook was trying to hit the shot but Steyn’s short ball hit his face. After the ball was hit, he started bleeding and was taken to the hospital in view of the situation. Steyn has retired from Test cricket
Dale Steyn made his international debut in Test cricket in December 2004. He played 93 Test matches and took 493 wickets after battling with injuries several times. He retired from Tests in the year 2019 after making many records. Steyn is the only fast bowler to take 5 wickets in an innings against 9 Test playing nations. At the same time, Steyn has taken 196 wickets in 125 ODIs and 64 wickets in 47 T20 Internationals. He played the last limited overs match for South Africa in February 2020.
