As the film turns 10, the director talks about his reaction to Imran Khan quitting acting. The director said he felt sad as he has a lot of respect for the ‘Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na’ actor. He said that the industry needs good actors like Emraan.

Talking to an entertainment portal, Abhinay Dev spoke about Imran Khan, who quit acting last year. The director said, ‘I felt sad because I respect that man a lot. He is a great person and anyway there is a dearth of good people in this world. He is one of the good guys and he should be in this industry. He is a genius, be it in front of the camera or behind it.’

He further added, ‘He is also a trained filmmaker and writer. I think they should take their creativity out in any form. But I felt bad that he didn’t want to act any more.

Abhinay Dev’s disclosure – Emraan rejected his films
Abhinay Dev also revealed that he had offered Imran Khan a few films, which he declined as he wanted to rediscover himself.

He said, ‘Actually, Emraan refused some of my films because he said he was stopping acting and I was a little taken aback by it, otherwise he would have been a part of one of my films four years ago. But he didn’t want to go down that path at all as he was rediscovering his own talent. I think every person has a process and I am sure we will see some great work from his side in the future.
