New Delhi: At least seven people were killed and dozens injured after a building collapsed following an explosion in Moghbazar, one of Bangladesh’s most congested areas of Dhaka. According to residents, the blast took place on Sunday evening. Eyewitnesses said two buses were badly damaged outside the three-storey building. Most of the injured have been admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Sheikh Hasina Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute and Community Medical College Hospital in Moghbazar.
After the incident, two including a child died on the spot at the community hospital. A child was also among the dead. Meanwhile, two others, both men, died at the Burn Institute, according to Inspector Bacchu Miya, in-charge of the police camp at Dhaka Medical College Hospital. He said that four or five of the victims were in critical condition.
Bacchu Miya said, ’41 people were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Among them, a 25-year-old woman named Jannat succumbed to her injuries.
